The wooden stand shown in Jaadugar is quite common in the circles of knowledge especially at the mosques or centres where either Quran or hardback covers are placed to study, read and learn from. It’s shaped to hold the books neatly instead of placing them on our laps for ease. It’s especially good for books with thousands of pages as one attached one of the larger books here which is easier to read on a stand like that instead of the table. There are some modern stands now that look like pulpits for books but they can’t be used while seated unlike these. These book stands are mostly made of wood and are quite light, sometimes can be made out of metal but the wood is the best. During prayers, people can leave their Quran copies open there to return back to later. I love the meticulous attention to detail because it’s really the first time people are appreciating something that wasn’t created carelessly and it almost looks like we are looking at the past from the lens of this anime. Some parts of the history from the 13th century still exist in 2026. #天幕のジャードゥガル

When I initially saw the posts and images of Jaadugar floating around, it resonated with me not because I felt represented but because I saw the curious conversations, the cultural insights people were sharing with historical facts and I wanted to be a part of this discovery and discussion. I also noticed the shades of brown and blue which got me thinking so I’ll put my thoughts here. Deep browns, sepias, and tans depict the unforgiving nature of the desert. The color emphasizes heat, dust, and the grueling physical endurance required to survive the landscape. In contrast to the harsh wilderness, the brown tones inside desert cities and their walls represent safety. Rich terracotta, clay, and wood hues convey hospitality, trading hubs, and the vibrant warmth of a tight-knit community where you ran often into familiar faces. The parchments of ancient texts also shared these shades. The ruins were also painted in the lighter sandy and camel brown colours. Brown colours in daylight screamed loudly in heat as the towns were destroyed. Heavy brown and stone-colored palettes are used to render ancient ruins, tombs, and historical architecture. This grounds the culture in a sense of timelessness, deep roots, and lost legend. I noticed this as in this video and then some stills taken from the anime. As for the shades of blue.. sometimes it is blended with the brown desert, and other times just takes the entire canvas with the starry sky. A deep indigo or midnight blue night sky acts as a visual shorthand for quiet reflection. Sitara had some of her most honest, vulnerable conversations or internal monologues when it was dark outside, whether indoors or outdoors. This magical "starry night" palette signals a shift away from mundane reality into the spiritual, cosmic, or destiny-driven realm which could nod to a future that is already fated to unfold. I appreciate the art, the colours, the blends of blue and indigo versus the brown and golden yellow colours to portray nighttime and daytime and how the objects from a Turkic-Persian setting were rendered into Japanese that’ll soon move towards Mongolia. I think I’ll explore the colours as they fascinate me just like the languages, especially the brown and blue, and share my thoughts on them later. #天幕のジャードゥーガル
