JUST IN: Permitless carry has passed in the Louisiana House and Senate. Louisiana already has the 2nd-highest gun death rate in the country. Data shows that weakening permitting requirements increases gun violence and violent crime—that’s why the majority of Americans and law enforcement oppose it. Passing permitless carry is irresponsible and will only make people less safe. everytown.org/press/louisian…
@Everytown @2Aupdates The criminals that make up the majority of those violent crimes stats in New Orleans and Baton Rouge already aren't carrying a permit Maybe they should be actually charged and prosecuted and not be let back on the streets quickly?
Can you share your statistics that show this is accurate? Ohio seems to think differently for the most part Gun crime fell the most in Parma by 22%, followed by Akron and Toledo, which had 18% decreases. Columbus gun crimes fell from 10.79 per 1,000 crime incidents to 9.55, while Cleveland’s dropped from 10.16 to 9.58. Canton’s rate fell from 12.67 to 11.98 highlandcountypress.com/news/report-gu…
@Everytown @BadWeaponTakes, allowing citizens to defend themselves against criminals is more dangerous than the criminals being the only ones able to carry guns! 🤡
@Everytown @2Aupdates Sounds like a dangerous place. That’s where good people need defensive weapons the most.
@Everytown You wouldn’t believe how many gun fights I win in New Hampshire on a daily basis. Just trying to get the milk and eggs
@Everytown "Gun death rate." Oh, you mean SUICIDES. Nice framing bias.
@Everytown There is no such data. But continue to panic. This is entertainment
@Everytown You had Trump in the WH and didn’t even try to take advantage of this… you just want perpetual problems.
@Everytown Please explain how a permit reduces gun violence.
@Everytown Awesome! Congrats Louisiana! Welcome to the cool kids club! 🥳
