@Smil3yAngel Then why do we need to open the bridge if we don't need the US? I suppose there is no need to cross the border if we cut all ties to the US. Or are we still importing the stuff that no other country can give us, electronics, packaged food, chemicals, medicine, etc?

@guyfelicella Canada is trapped in the US energy loop. Our heavy crude requires specialized US refineries. If the US switches to Venezuela, Canada loses its main buyer, and China isn't anywhere close to filling that void.

@FoodProfessor Canada is practically locked into the US energy market. Canadian heavy crude can only be processed by specialized refineries, the vast majority of which are in America. Without the US, Canada loses its main outlet. China is nowhere near taking over that volume.
