@Rickster_75 @SweetPeaBell326 I’ve seen a few of these videos now. I’m amazed at how long a human stays alive while burning to death . What a horrible way to go.
@ATC_Chuck @Rickster_75 @SweetPeaBell326 I was wondering the opposite What actually causes the death OBVIOUSLY extreme pain and a myriad of medical complications But what actually stops the heart?
@Jackman1209 @ATC_Chuck @Rickster_75 @SweetPeaBell326 The pain is greatest at the beginning, before the flame burns the nerves. After that the burned skin does not hurt. Most of the victims die from suffocation because the blaze damages the respiratory tract, especially the lungs.
@Jackman1209 @ATC_Chuck @Rickster_75 @SweetPeaBell326 Those who survive are worse off. Most live an average of 45 days in the hospital before they die from suffocation as well: the lungs' alveoli fill with water and they stop breathing.
