Diplomatic Roundtable Held to Address Humanitarian Crisis On March 28, 2024, a crucial diplomatic roundtable was convened at the EU Embassy in Ethiopia, bringing together a spectrum of stakeholders to tackle the pressing humanitarian crisis gripping Ethiopia.

Earlier today, @KateForbes_IFRC convened with the diplomatic community in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. During the meeting, she underscored the vital role of local partners such as @EthioRedCross and the importance of bolstering support to them for better impact within communities.

Often, #refugee sites are in remote areas where basic services are scarce. Together with our partners & the @EthioRedCross, we provided 2 ambulances to make sure that #refugees can quickly get the healthcare they need, at the #Sherkole Health Center.
A local humanitarian group “Sebawi Digaf Timret” partnered with @EthioRedCross collects in-kind donations at the Society’s Head Quarter. 400 from the total 600 quintals of food and nonfood items collected from the community have been delivered to IDPs in Dessie and Komblocha .

I met with President @SahleWorkZewde. Our discussion covered the necessity of maintaining humanitarian principles & the importance of trust. Especially at the National & community level. Support for @EthioRedCross is key to meet the humanitarian needs of the people of Ethiopia.
Our teams repaired 50 hand pumps in Humera & Tsegede areas in Northern #Ethiopia for communities in need. This means access to clean drinking water for more than 100,000 people & we are currently planning for a second stage of restoring water services in the area.
We are permanently present in #Ethiopia since 1977, providing numerous humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict/violence and disaster. #Throwbackfriday

@EthioRedCross recognized a total of 49 volunteers and staffs who were involved in humanitarian services to EAL Boeing 737 Max 8 plane that was flying from Addis Ababa to Nairobi and crashed six minutes after takeoff near to Bishoftu, on 10th March, 2019.
@redcrosscanada has handed over a heavy truck to @EthioRedCrossthe in an official ceremony held at Training Center . The truck is used to transport humanitarian goods and is purchased with money worth about 4 million ETB and it has a loading capacity of 800 quintal a time .
