Very few people need to hear this (and few who do are liable to change their minds) but just in case there's a reachable voter out there somewhere, figured I'd explain why Current Affairs' case for West 2024 is poorly reasoned nymag.com/intelligencer/…
West supporters argue that there's no point in leftists competing in Democratic primaries, since the party leadership will just "rig" them like they did against Bernie. This is delusional in more ways than one. nymag.com/intelligencer/…
@EricLevitz Every time writers make this point, it's very flattering. You seem to think that left-wing voters are more reasonable than moderate ones since we can move to the center for the greater good while moderates could never move leftward in order to do the same. Thank you, but no.
@EricLevitz "The American Left is simultaneously powerful enough to throw elections to Republicans by not voting (???) and also so weak that they don't necessitate policy concessions in exchange for their vote" is neither well reasoned nor new and that's why it isn't persuasive.
@EricLevitz I’m in a swing state, Voted for HRC in ‘16 & Biden in ‘20. Unless he makes substantial promises on court reform, labor rights, minimum wage, filibuster reform, etc. He won’t receive my vote. Shaming me is futile, the only person who can win my vote is Biden. He needs to act fast.
@EricLevitz Pathetic. You keep doing this, keep gaslighting, keep lying, keep using personal smears, but you NEVER OFFER ANYTHING TO EARN A VOTE. Pathetic. Truly.
@EricLevitz "Very few people will bother reading the same drivel (Corporate media continues to regurgitate)..."
@EricLevitz "The Case for Joe Biden 2024 is Extremely Weak. Helping Donald Trump win the presidency is not a good way of advancing progressive political goals." -- fixed it for you.
