I was diagnosed with #endometriosis when I was 32. I spent 20 years in excruciating pain until I finally got answers. How long did it take for you to get a diagnosis? #endometriosisawarenessmonth #endo #endendo #womenshealth #chronicpain #chronicillness #thisisme #mystory
@Endo_Jenn 30+ years! Diagnosed with endo and adenomyosis after hysterectomy aged 49. Was repeatedly told “normal for you”.
@Endo_Jenn When I was about 29 and wanted to have a baby. I can't because of the endometriosis despite surgery. Two things helped: endometriosis diet (look it up and see if it works for you) and menopause - heaven! Best of luck!
@Endo_Jenn Started having pain at 11yrs old in 2009 . Around 14 i asked my mom if i could have endometriosis (had read about it online) so she brought it up with my pediatrician who laughed and said no that’s somthing 40yr olds get not 14yrs olds .
@Endo_Jenn @mini2z I was diagnosed at the age of 14 and suffered for 40 years until I finally found a gynaecologist who recommended an endometrial ablation at the age of 54. Four years ago this month. Shameful that I suffered for so long.
@Endo_Jenn At least 9 years. You know...missed a lot of school, a lot of work...just like most.
@Endo_Jenn It took twelve years from time I started to complain about my pain, to a doctor. That was 15 years from start of symptoms. I was told it was normal period pain. Another 6 years on top of this to be diagnosed with severe Endometriosis.
@Endo_Jenn Menses @ 11. Quit sports @ 13. Baby @ 31. 6.7cm ovarian cyst at 32 dx by ER. Endometrioma removed, dx endometriosis and ablation done with a course of Orilissa @ 32. More pain from 33-36 before found a specialist and had excision surgery @ 36. DIE bowel & left urter dx 36.
@Endo_Jenn 20 years and they only did it because I finally lost it and demanded they cut me open. Not my finest moment but I was right
