Social care has just been knocked about as an issue for far too long. So I'm calling on the other parties to put in their manifestos – all of us– that we will take part in cross-party talks after the election for a cross-party agreement on social care.
This is a long-term policy with a massive impact on the NHS. There are issues on how it’s financed and we’d have to all agree on that, too. I don’t think there’s any other way of doing it. Let’s grasp the nettle. theguardian.com/politics/2024/…
@EdwardJDavey That is a sensible plan and way forward. Thank you Ed.
@EdwardJDavey This needs to happen, for many decades #SocialCare just gets a brief mention and then ignored, yet it is something we will all need to access in one way or another #RightsForResidents
@EdwardJDavey Please include ending the unjust frozen pension policy in that agreement. Many UK pensioners in mainly Commonwealth countries are feeling the pinch. Unlike those living in the US. Not fair!
@EdwardJDavey You should resign for your part in the post office scandal when you brushed it aside and people lost their lives shame on you
@EdwardJDavey And I'm about to lose my #CarersAllowance because of all past governments - including your party in coalition - refused to remove the overlapping benefit rule. Talk to me, I'll tell you a bit about 'social care'!
@EdwardJDavey It's this cross party nonsense that you ALL get wrong I'm afraid.
@EdwardJDavey Perhaps you should donate the 200k plus that your trousered as a consultant
