I’m not against sports betting. Literally, I may be the only person in my friend group who doesn’t do it. But I have a real problem with the predatory nature of how sports betting companies are directly targeting college kids.
@EWErickson Sports gambling is way better than the lottery or slot machines
@EWErickson I agree. The sports betting is getting crazy. All I hear is guys tell me about how much they won. But when I ask further questions they admit to how much they actually have lost betting. These companies are not out for your best interest. They want your money.
@EWErickson They’re adults. I have zero problem with them targeting young men 18+
@EWErickson I don’t do it either. Discourage my children from it as well. Not worth it.
@EWErickson Yeah I'm not a prude, but this isn't going to end well for lots of people and our society at large.
@EWErickson I seldom agree with Erick but this is a ticking time bomb for sports. Two stories this week that cast a shadow on possible impropriety as it relates to sport bettings/professional sports.
@EWErickson I’m truly annoyed how sports coverage has morphed into more betting info and less about the games and players. I’ve learned what the over and lines mean thru osmosis.
@EWErickson That's America and our free market system, personal choice, and personal responsibility. Guess there might be conflicts sometimes.
