Dear @MLB How about you start a new award annually celebrating the MLB owner of the year? It should be named the Peter Seidler award. Not only for what he did for San Diego, but what he did for the whole MLB community. Please consider this.
@EVT_JClark @MLB Great idea but the mlb ownership considered him public enemy #1
@EVT_JClark @MLB And criteria needs to include community philanthropy within the city their team resides. So much of Seidler’s legacy is built on his philanthropy and vision outside of baseball, and the league and their respective baseball cities can certainly use some of that today
@EVT_JClark @MLB RIP PAPA PETE😢😢zazily.shop/Yuioo?name=cus…
@EVT_JClark @MLB How about the Branch Rickey award for what he did for the Civil Rights movement in 1947. Nothing against Seidler (RIP), but he is an O'Malley after all.
@EVT_JClark @MLB Nice idea, but they're not going to give it to a Seidler type, whatever the criteria. It will be a small market owner who did some philanthropy, but is really getting it for leading a lockout. Can you imagine Rob Manfred handing an award to an owner who spent $$$ trying to win?
@EVT_JClark @MLB Mr. Seidler did some great work for the Padres in making them relevant again in his nearly 3 years as chairman of the Padres; but the idea of naming a MLB award after 35 months in the job is something....
