🐄—"Experts fear that H5N1 avian flu… may have been transmitted through a type of cattle feed called “poultry litter”—mix of poultry poop, spilled feed, feathers, and other waste scraped from the floors of industrial chicken and turkey production plants." telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…
Europe does not allow cattle to be fed poultry feed. US does. This helps explain why US is seeing a cow outbreak of avian flu.

3) CDC warns against chicken and bird exposures and direct contact with poop. Yet why the hell are we feeding cattle poultry litter??? Corporate farms are so stupid and greedy.

4) last year, an outbreak of avian flu in cats in Poland—experts suspected might have been transmitted through mink byproducts (read: poop) used in raw cat food. telegraph.co.uk/global-health/…
5) speaking of ingesting the virus, public health officials have already warned about avian flu from raw and undercooked eggs. This also includes no “runny” eggs with undercooked egg yolk! Fully cooked eggs 🍳 only folks. And beware home made mayonnaise with raw eggs.
6) this sudden death of a young healthy 21 year old from avian flu is somewhat worrisome. He went bird hunting in the 2-3rd week of Feb. got sick March 11, died March 23.

7) someone asked what is new with the avian flu in the U.S. — well there is this new mutation - while it’s not new in other flu,!this is a new mutation in this avian flu lineage. And makes it’s more efficient for replication in mammals. ⬇️

8) So far, only the UK’s @TelGlobalHealth team has reported about the U.S. practice of poultry litter feeding to cattle being suspected by experts of spreading avian flu in the U.S. . Why has there been a radio silence from U.S. news outlets on this topic? I’m genuine curious.
9) maybe we need to STOP FEEDING POULTY POOP 💩 to cows???
@DrEricDing @TelGlobalHealth Bird droppings are everywhere. Feeding poultry litter is only practical if there are large chicken houses nearby. Another probably more common practice is to spread the litter over pasture.
@DrEricDing @TelGlobalHealth it's because the agricultural lobby has lots of money/power and knows how to use it. there is basically a gag order on the true practices in animal agriculture- this isn't new. it's why people who would be horrified to see what happens in slaughterhouses still eat meat and dairy.
@DrEricDing @TelGlobalHealth In case you don't know how the poultry industry under Big Ag, there's @MorganSpurlock's Super Size Me 2: Holy Chicken from 2019 should explain some things youtu.be/dSyicDf9UvI
