I am deeply saddened to learn of the passing of my friend of 25 years Larry Lucchino. He belongs in Cooperstown and has helped shape the careers of so many of the games best executives and the greatest Ballpark’s fans love going to today. #RIPLL
@DonOrsillo @Buster_ESPN Larry created the current Padres experience as we now know it. Without his vision things like the western metal supply building integrated with Petco Park and the PitP don’t exist.
@DonOrsillo Wow! So sorry to hear of Mr. Lucchino’s passing! He did so much for baseball, not just in San Diego. He was also a big fan of USD basketball. The baseball world has lost a giant. Condolences to his family & friends.
@DonOrsillo Couldn’t agree more Don! A true pioneer and major piece of the Championships for the Red Sox
@DonOrsillo I am sorry my padre friend ! 🤗
@DonOrsillo Truly one of the greats! It’s an honor to work in the house he helped build ❤️
@DonOrsillo Very sad news today. Sorry you lost a friend.
@DonOrsillo 😔 Not only did he have his great successes in Boston, but in a way he was a pivotal part of getting Petco Park built when it was approved by the voting public in San Diego after the 1998 Padres he oversaw won the pennant. He truly left his mark on baseball.
