Inside the disinformation industry - how a “ratings agency” called the Global Disinformation Index determines that ad revenues be withheld from @unherd for .. er… publishing me. unherd.com/2024/04/inside…
@Docstockk @unherd I mean, you could just work with an agency that uses different tech?
@Docstockk @kflarpk @unherd 🤦🏻♂️ Sounds to me like a kind of algorithmic ✨Index Librorum Prohibitorum✨(for those who know or remember).
@Docstockk @TonyDowson5 @unherd I do wonder how robust the underlying idea is. How many people actually associate the brands sprinkled across a webpage with it's content? Or is this just a zombie idea bought and sold by activist lefties?
@Docstockk @unherd Activist groups are now trying to control gets ad revenue for platforming or publishing opinions they don't like. It's authoritarian activism. They aren't fighting injustice, they're fighting for the sake of having control.
@Docstockk @SpeechUnion @unherd My barometer for politics is if you're against Unherd, you're my opponent.
@Docstockk @SpeechUnion @unherd Ratings agencies. They worked so well in a different context in 2008 didn't they?
@Docstockk @unherd “A lot of disinformation is not just whether something is true or false — it escapes from the limits of fact-checking. Something can be factually accurate but still extremely harmful… [GDI] leads you to a more useful definition of disinformation…”
@Docstockk @unherd This is frightening……it’s like the thought police in 1984!!!
@Docstockk @unherd Astonished to learn how dangerous you are. You seemed so friendly, funny and clever.😀
