Protecting the rights and interests of Ukrainian citizens abroad has always been and remains a priority for the MFA. At the same time, under the circumstances of Russia’s full-scale aggression, the main priority is to protect our Homeland from destruction. How it looks like now: a man of conscription age went abroad, showed his state that he does not care about its survival, and then comes and wants to receive services from this state. It does not work this way. Our country is at war. Besides, the obligation to update one's documents with the conscription centers existed even before the new law on mobilization was passed. If anyone believes that while someone is fighting far away at the frontline and risking his or her life for this state, someone else is staying abroad but receiving services from this state, then this is not how it works. Staying abroad does not relieve a citizen of his or her duties to the Homeland. That is why yesterday I ordered measures to restore fair attitudes toward men of conscription age in Ukraine and abroad. This will be fair. Soon, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will provide further clarifications on the procedure for obtaining consular services within the legal framework for men of conscription age in foreign diplomatic missions as we approach the entry into force of the law "On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine on Certain Issues of Military Service, Mobilization and Military Registration", as well as after it comes into force.
@DmytroKuleba Ukraine regime wants citizens to die for their cause but denied the citizens two elections already….
@DmytroKuleba A firm stance on citizenship duties during wartime! 🇺🇦Upholding obligations to the homeland amidst adversity is paramount. #UkraineStrong
You are certainly right. Citizens of their own country should defend their own country. But if you think about the economic and political elite in Ukraine, why is it acceptable for the adult children of these people to avoid military service? Why, for example, is Klitschko's lame excuse that his children have a different citizenship accepted? If I were Ukrainian, I would feel like a fool and insist that the elite send their own children before I went to fight myself
@DmytroKuleba This has gone too far. This did not happen in world war II and should not be happening now.
@DmytroKuleba Anyone who abandoned their country during a time of total war is probably not much help at the front.
@DmytroKuleba @DmytroKuleba this is fully supported. Also Please propose us 🇪🇺 to deport illegal men. It is time for 🇱🇻 Latvia to deport them back to you (some of them are fighting for Russian language here, making trouble). Women and kids should stay here. Men shoudl do their duty.
Dear Kuleba, I always helped Ukraine and his Military, but seeing that your officers are stealing money when you buy military equipment, buying low quality - then nothing can justify to fight for your country. Get the corruption out and then and only then you can ask people to die for their country.
@DmytroKuleba Navigating citizenship and duty in times of crisis!
@DmytroKuleba Your talents and service are needed at this critical time... Not only at the front lines, but supporting civil society as well...
