‘SHOGUN’ Season 2 seems unlikely as the creators say there’s no roadmap for adapting beyond what was in the book. “I think if we had a story, if we could find a story, we would be open to it.” (Source: hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-features…)
@DiscussingFilm I really hope they don't try to milk this with a second season. The story that needed to be told was told, so let it be. One of the best shows of 2024 so far. FX’s streak continues.
@DiscussingFilm Not every miniseries needs to turn into Game of Thrones.
@DiscussingFilm make a spinoff that takes place before the events of shogun ftw
@DiscussingFilm @MrHreviews as I said in the Youtube comments. No material beyond the book and they told that story.
@DiscussingFilm No story? How about history. Ya know. What the book is based on.
@DiscussingFilm It's probably best that they don't do a season 2 if they're going to try to expand on something that wasn't already pre-written. That's not to say it couldn't be good, but they're basically going to have a massive uphill battle to make it as good
@DiscussingFilm I would just leave that chapter closed but spinoff and tell a new story in Japan 50-100 yrs later with some nods and mentions to the characters 👌
@DiscussingFilm There's nowhere to go if they follow the characters or their historical counterparts - Toronaga (Tokugawa Ieyasu) is Shogun and ruled thereafter.
@DiscussingFilm No need for season 2, it is amazing as it is. Find another book instead.
@DiscussingFilm There’s enough money to find the story.
