Emma Stone highlights how audiences go from loving a film to hating it in a quick rate, especially on social media. “My mom has this saying that at the start of a relationship you say, ‘Oh we’re so in love we finish each other’s sentences.’ Then, as time goes by, it becomes, ‘You’re always interrupting me.’ That can happen in a relationship with film.” (Source: thetimes.co.uk/article/emma-s…)
@DiscussingFilm In the age of content creation it’s more valuable to ride the wave then it is to buck it. I don’t think this is an audience issue but a social media incentive issue. We’ve created an internet of echo chambers and sheep instead of free thinking and leaders.
@DiscussingFilm She's so right. It really can happen. You can be dazzled by aspects of a movie, without seeing its weak points, until you've had your full of the good stuff. Same in reverse, what you think is bad you may eventually love. The only important thing is not to be controlled.
@DiscussingFilm because people don’t get that over playing something doesn’t make it bad
@DiscussingFilm It’s herd culture reaching a scary level of power.
@DiscussingFilm ngl she cooking 🔥🔥 happened with me & pulp fiction
@DiscussingFilm Probably because trashing something gets more clicks then praising something
@DiscussingFilm I’m going to keep that teaching of his mother, there’s nothing more real than his mother says.
