Today, Uganda hosted the 2nd Africa Test and Treat Initiative Conference Against Cancer and other NCD under the theme: “Together we challenge those in power to close the care gap”. This is aimed at enhancing awareness, early detection and diagnosis for quality prevention and control. In this area, we need to Strengthen; • Capacity for community health extension workers to offer diagnostic interventions for early detection of these diseases at community level. • Point of care screening to reduce time lag of people moving from villages to big facilities. • Human Resource capacity building and training. • Integration of services. When a person comes to a facility, treat the whole person (all conditions) not just specific diseases. • Tele consultation. We can harness power of technology to get expert opinion at different levels of care. We thank the participants from across Africa and the organizers for this platform for sharing scientific approaches to our common challenges.
@DianaAtwine It was nice listening from you #Together we can close the care gap
@DianaAtwine That's so good, thanks for spearheading the programs.
@DianaAtwine Good milestone to our health sector. Dr as you are on the go about it mind about the welfare of interns that do the same services without cameras. Please reinstate the presidential directive
@DianaAtwine Can I request for grants in NCD research projects
@DianaAtwine The welfare of medical interns should be prioritized , failure to do so will only worsen the health sector , we need to prioritize health workers welfare. #Reinstatethepresidentialdirective
@DianaAtwine Awesome intervention madam Ps. The need for community access and treatment compliance as we rill out the intervention. Asante sana
