I have a pharmacist with me today who is training to prescribe. He's seeing a broad range of medical problems with my supervision. With support and resources, pharmacists can deliver far more than we currently ask of them. They are highly skilled and under utilised.

@DeanEggitt I agree during COVID I met lots at our Vaccination hub . Like everyone : they do need to keep up with ALL conditions .
@DeanEggitt 👏👏Some community pharmacists in 🏴 now regularly seeing 250-300+ patients a month on the NHS service covering a wide range of conditions (on top of other services). 94% of patients would otherwise have seen a GP. Over 90% managed at first point of contact by the IP.
@DeanEggitt Does the UK have enough pharmacists? And how many pharmacists would want to take the extra clinician related roles. I understand pharmacists have been used to provide flu vaccinations with minimal training.
@DeanEggitt @pcpa_org Thank you dr dean! Feedback, support and supervision is exactly what we need to get there. From a pharmacist
