@Kish_P14 I could see him not really doing that much. With the way the prem is so man to man focused, I assume we’re gonna see more “man-beater” tactics, ie move the 6/8 out wide dragging their markers, opening the middle to allow Fbs to invert or the attackers to drop.

@Kish_P14 I think you’re underestimating him. He did play 6 last szn which I was surprised about. I thought Bruno G would be playing there more. Plus, I really think this narrative about needing passing in the midfield is tired when we won’t have any issue playing out with our back line

@Kish_P14 The 6 isn’t the one who progresses play in the prem anymore, at least not in the way we think It’s the backline/GK, 8s, 10s, etc bc of how man-oriented presses are If anything 6s have been almost removed from buildup and either more of a decoy or drop to the backline to build up

@Kish_P14 I think people have this romanticized view of what a 6 is but imo that’s not what that position is in the prem, at least not anymore. Esp considering how buildup has changed and how DZB worked it without one already. Requiring a unicorn for your system means your system is poop

@htomufc We didn’t really have any issues with buildup with DZB without a unicorn 6 that are pure passers but can also handle the running and defensive duties. Our backline &GK will be tasked with a lot of progression. Plus we need to keep gray&bergvall for homegrown reasons

@Kish_P14 I’ve been saying this. IMO DZB can make it work without needing a unicorn 6 when he already proved that he can find ways to progress the ball without one and we have some pretty incredible young talent he can mold. I’m gonna trust in DZB and let him cook
