@DavidZipper JSK: “If transportation were any other field, 33,000 annual deaths would be a national public health crisis and people would lose their jobs.”
@DavidZipper It's getting frightening out there. The more they medal with the streets, the longer it takes to get anywhere and the danger factor is increasing. I dread the HLA impact in LA to the point I am seriously reconsidering my transportation lifestyle.
@DavidZipper CU Denver's own! You should come to Denver and do a panel with Wes!
@DavidZipper The overall expectation is that drivers will drive within the safety limits of the road design. The expectation is that drivers have a sense of self-preservation to slow down.
@DavidZipper If I practiced engineering with such disregard to the safety of people, I'd be de-registered, prosecuted, fined, sued by victims' loved-ones & probably end up in jail. Traffic engineers are unique in engineering in that they get a free pass to design unsafe systems.
