I never see other people who like film scores and musicals. Am I the only one who loves this music?
@laurelworlds Film scores are my PASSION. Have been an aficionado of the art form since I was six. My favorite composers: Jerry Goldsmith, John Barry, John Williams, Rachel Portman, Alan Silvestri...
@DaveBuzan I was around six when I fell in love with film scores too. The original Star Wars and Battlestar Galactica (Stu Philips) scores.
@laurelworlds It was also "Star Wars" for me, and "The, Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." My mom was/is a huge music lover. Tons of different albums in different genres. After she had picked up those two, she recalled me spinning them endlessly. Used to play in front of the speakers for hours.
@DaveBuzan I was so happy when I finally got around to watching the Ron Moore version of Galactica to have Bear McCreery integrate some of Stu Philips' themes in his scores.
@laurelworlds Bear was certainly respectful of it. (The movie's a landfill of cinematic trash, but I absolutely love Bear's score for the recent"Child's Play" remake.)
@DaveBuzan Much better than when they remade Ice Castles and chopped that music into rubbish. I always prefer the 1970s original. We played it enough in band back in school!
