Following my previous tweet, decided to look at how schools' P8 would change should disadvantaged students be compared to national disadvantaged and non to non. Strongly believe the DfE should have a measure like this in the performance tables…minsthorpecc-my.sharepoint.com/:x:/g/personal…
@jpembroke @KatStern4 Yeah seen a couple of examples where it doesn't really paint an accurate picture. One of the reasons I did a disadvantaged version to go with it.

@KatStern4 @jpembroke Location of school as I can't get access to pupil cohort as far as I'm aware. Tried to make this clear in notes and recognise school location is not always an accurate representation of a pupil cohort.

If you have Post-16 provision, please read this urgently. Make sure you don't miss out on funding. The DfE seem to be keeping this rather low key by asking providers to opt-in and by not contacting providers directly. Deadline today!
There is a form on DfE Sign in that needs signing if you are a centre with post-16 provision and wish to access the tuition fund, it’s under information exchange - documents - revenue funding - opt in form. Deadline is tomorrow (16th). It details how much you will receive.
Better late than never I guess. Pleased for the students despite another ludicrously late announcement. Impossible job for some schools to now have the grades removed in time for tomorrow.
@KasLangmead @DataEducator Thanks Kasim. However, I think a lot of the issues are not to do with downgrading the grades submitted but more to do with external units looking really low. We weren't allowed to submit CAGs for these units so the exam board have come up with them somehow.
I really hope that vocational subjects are not forgotten amongst all this fallout. There have been some worryingly low grades awarded to external units that schools and colleges had no control over.

For various reason, I was against following Scotland and just awarding CAGs. Now it's the only way out of this horrific mess.

Our students invested in their education. They believed if they worked hard and applied themselves they would get what they deserved. They trusted the system. For too many you have destroyed any confidence and security they had in their future. This is wrong. We will fight this.

I know it still wouldn't have been perfect but couldn't the changes to CAGs have been capped at 1 grade either way? At least we wouldn't have ridiculous stories of grade C's being altered to grade U's. Seems sensible to me but what do I know 🤷♂️
