Eyes Wide Shut (1999, Kubrick) "All you can do is either pose questions or make truthful observations about human behavior. The only morality is not to be dishonest." --- Stanley Kubrick
Kubrick's interview with Richard Schickel/ 1975
@DannyDrinksWine I think this is a fair guideline for making films (art in general). Always tell the truth. Of course the crux of it would be, make sure you KNOW what that truth is. That’s much trickier. To keep our eyes clear enough and our ears in-tuned enough, and our hearts soft enough.
@DannyDrinksWine if this was not directed by Kubrick would anyone remember it or tweet about it?
@DannyDrinksWine Most overhyped, found it basically unwatchable.
@DannyDrinksWine The very last quality I would attribute to Eyes Wide Shut is having "truthful observations about human behavior".
@DannyDrinksWine 'LUCKY TO BE ALIVE' in the same eon as Stanley Kubrick
