New buildings in high demand areas are good. This one is in my neighborhood and it replaced a sad oil change business that would turn into a drug slinging parking lot in the evening. New homes - in my hood - prevent displacement. I welcome it 100%. You should too.
@Daniel___Owens A fun fact about this building is that it’s 4’ shorter than it could be because the punk dive bar across the street didn’t want more shadows on its outdoor beer garden.
@Daniel___Owens There's even a small business in the ground floor!
@Daniel___Owens Where do people get their oil changed now?
@Daniel___Owens This building also allowed for the construction of a fully protected bike lane on that block. The former car repair shop was a dangerous business for cyclists. Win win
@Daniel___Owens I biked by this one this morning! I was thinking about how pretty it is. The picture windows are lovely. Would be nicer if it could have been all wood instead of multi-material but that's planning codes for you I guess!
@Daniel___Owens They could have put two or three more stories on that.
@Daniel___Owens 10 feet from the boundary of the Mission district? Could you build that on the other side of the street?
