When the hurricane hits Florida, federal aid will flow into help — paid for by tax dollars from Americans across the country. Airplanes will be full of supplies, not stunts. There will be no "us" and "them." Because this is how America should act, and most Americans know it.
@DanRather REMINDER: Donald Trump withheld aide to blue states because they didn't kiss his ring.
@DanRather It is a relief to wake up each day knowing that there is a sane and sensitive leader in our White House to address catastrophic events like this.
@DanRather There is one place tax dollars won't be coming from: State of Florida income tax.
@DanRather Interesting that all these conservatives who say they should not be paying to help others with their student loans are not on their soapboxes saying the federal government should not be spending money to help florida more. I guess the expenditure is ok when it helps them ????
@DanRather On the other hand, perhaps we acknowledge that Cat 4 hurricanes are normal events for FL & TX, not “emergencies” but something they should responsibly plan and save for? CA raised billions in bonds & taxes for fire prevention. So tired of bailing out short-sighted red states.
@DanRather Fun Fact: Ron DeSantis' FIRST vote when he became a Congressman back in 2013 was to vote NO for Hurricane Sandy relief funds for communities in the northeast who were ravaged by that storm.
