During the Soviet-Afghan war, Saudi Arabia used the opportunity to export Wahhabism into the region. Since the end game of Wahhabism matches with the US objective in the region, the US was fine with it. Saudi Arabia also exported this ideology to Africa and the US was fine with it just like it was in Afghanistan because it also serve its purpose in Africa. Now you understand better. The US doesn't give a fuck about any religion. They only support any religion that helps them achieve their objectives at the time. Religion is a tool in the hands of this neocolonial state. Saudi Arabia is never interested in exporting anything beneficial to any country which is why it's super focused in exporting Islamic ideologies which will in turn give them power over such countries that accepted those extreme ideologies.

Qatar Airways has a knack for doing this. It is really bothersome. You will have your visa and all your documents. When you want to board their flight, they will be asking you for the address you are going to and the hotel booking, residence permit and other issues, which is not their business. If you protest, they put you aside and attend to other people as a form of punishing you for protesting, and if you are not careful, they will refuse to pick you up despite collecting your money. I have seen them in action several times and will most likely not fly them again. Their customer service is nothing to write home about either, if you send them an email or a message via DM, they won't reply
