I've commented before that Christians need to become adroit at exegeting the culture. That is, to become more astute at identifying and taking apart the terms and vernacular used by the culture to advance its ungodly ideologies. Among the terms that must be exegeted most urgently by the church today is the term trans (as in transgender and transgenderism). The term trans warrants objective analysis because it is inherently contradictory to what the culture itself defines as transgenderism: the idea that a person can transform (or be transformed) from one gender to another. By definition, the prefix trans means to change thoroughly, to transcend, to transverse—neither of which can apply with regard to gender—which is a fixed, immutable, binary characteristic of one's personhood. In other words, the very idea of transgenderism is fundamentally a misnomer since gender cannot, and therefore does not, change. The best (for lack of a better word) that a biological male can do is to make himself appear to be female on the outside. The same is true for a biological female, who can only make herself appear to be male externally. If it were actually possible for one's gender to transform, puberty blockers and radical surgical procedures wouldn't be necessary to begin with as that which is inherently capable of transforming does so organically and innately, not artificially, as is the case with puberty blockers and surgery. So the very term transgender is a fallacy simply by exegetical definition. A biological male who chooses to wear lipstick, stilettos, and dresses will never be a female no matter what he does to the contrary. The same is true for biological females who dress like men. Transgender(ism) is a lie. It is biological cosplay. If you are a professing Christian, it behooves you, for the sake of the gospel, your family, and your church to learn to exegete the culture so that you are not taken captive through philosophy and empty deception (Colossians 2:8). #NoOneIsTrans ~ DBH
@D_B_Harrison Can't change your chromosomes
@D_B_Harrison So good I had to retweet it. 🥰
@D_B_Harrison Agreed, but offer an alternative. I like gender confused.
@D_B_Harrison Aren’t they essentially saying it’s how they perceive or feel about themselves and not related to anatomical features?
