#HurricaneFiona has letup enough for us to begin going door to door to check on all of the Mariposa families. Everyone is pitching in to help clean up. So far, everyone is safe and accounted for!
Today, with the support of @oceanconservancy, our girls are cleaning the beautiful beach across the street from the #MariposaCenterForGirls. They are sharing their love of the ocean and our community with a special Community Engaged Learning group from EF.
This year, 9 Mariposas took flight out into the world. In an intimate ceremony, we celebrated the accomplishments of our 2022 graduates. We could not be prouder of the personal transformations, growth, and empowerment that they have experienced during their time with us. 🦋
We’re screaming congratulations to our newest UWC Costa Rica graduate, Nicole! After celebrating with her classmates from all over the world, we welcomed her back home in #Cabarete for the summer. Can’t wait to see what this amazing young woman does next!
Since 2011, Mariposa has been building structures from single-use plastic bottles stuffed with trash. This year we gifted a brand new structure to @3_Mariposas Montessori, repurposing one TON of plastic waste that would have otherwise ended up in the oceans. Happy #earthday!
