One thing that has surprised me about these winding up scenes before Jesus Christ returns to the earth is just how many church members are surprised about what is happening in the world around us. Why are we surprised? When governments are collapsing? When societies are openly following Satan? When people are leaving the path of righteousness? When people are mocking God and His teachings? When evil seems to be completely overtaking good? It is exactly what we would expect it to look like when “Satan has power over his dominion”. Why are we surprised to see prophecies being fulfilled? We have been warned, and re-warned, my entire life. The scriptures have told us what is coming and how to prepare for it. The prophets have told us what is coming and how to prepare for it. The more evil the world becomes, the closer we are getting to the Savior’s return. Evil is running rampant in every city, on every corner. BUT, there are TWO societies, walking side by side right now— Those choosing to follow Satan, and those choosing to follow Jesus Christ. BOTH are growing in strength at an amazing pace! One is loud, one is quiet. One is very easy to see, one is happening behind the scenes, with most people not even realizing it is taking place. One involves many people-- one, relatively few. One SEEMS to be winning, the other WILL win. I am surprised that so many members are in a state of panic— The sky is falling! Society is collapsing! The TikTok videos! How will we ever save our society? We won’t save Babylon. We will NEVER save Babylon. Babylon WILL fall. We have not been asked to save Babylon, we have been asked to save people FROM Babylon, to help them leave the world behind. We have been asked to BUILD ZION. And we ARE building Zion, one heart, one person, one neighbor, one family at a time. We have been asked to walk away from the influences of the world, and find peace, happiness, and HOPE in the safety of Jesus Christ. This is no time for despair, this is a time to REJOICE! In the words of President Nelson— “Just think of the EXCITEMENT and urgency of it all: every prophet commencing with Adam has seen our day. And every prophet has talked about our day, when Israel would be gathered and the world would be prepared for the Second Coming of the Savior.” (Hope of Israel; June 2018) “But, my dear brothers and sisters, so many wonderful things are ahead. In coming days, we will see the greatest manifestations of the Savior’s power that the world has ever seen. Between now and the time He returns ‘with power and great glory,’ He will bestow countless privileges, blessings, and miracles upon the faithful.” (October 2022 GC) What we focus on magnifies. We can focus on the world that is crumbling around us, or we can focus on the Zion society that is currently being built. Two different paths. Two different endings. Two groups walking SIDE BY SIDE until the Savior returns. WE get to choose which path we want to follow. WE get to choose which of these two worlds we want to live in, here and now! We have the gospel of Jesus Christ!! The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of GOOD NEWS, always! The gospel of Jesus Christ is one of HOPE, always! Is it hard to watch the destruction around us? Absolutely. But this is a time to rejoice, not despair! Jesus Christ is GATHERING and PREPARING His Saints! And WE get to be a part of it. What an amazing time to be alive!

So… Prices are up, no argument. But the record for "this high for this long" is 2010 to 2014, when gas sat above $3 for over 1,000 straight days. Adjusted for inflation, 2012 was the most expensive year ever. $3.63 then is $5.08 today. We're at $4.28.

Gas prices have never been this high for this long. And recent aggression by the Houthis and Iranians ensures that this will likely continue for months. It is going to get much worse before it gets better.

President Nelson spent 7 straight years teaching us that if we did not learn how to PERSONALLY hear, and follow, the voice of Jesus Christ speaking to us through the Holy Ghost, we WOULD NOT survive spiritually. President Oaks confirmed that message to us early in his Presidency. And HERE WE ARE. We shouldn’t be surprised when a great many people within the church are still following the standards set by the world. We shouldn’t be surprised that there is great pushback within the church to change in “this way, or that way”. We shouldn’t be surprised that there are many within the church who don’t like the changes being made at a rapid pace, and tell us all why they are problematic. We shouldn’t be surprised that there are many who believe they know more than God, and stand in open judgement of others. We shouldn’t be surprised that there are “many” who may be choosing to follow the wide path of the world and only a comparatively “few” who are choosing to follow the straight and narrow path. We are watching prophecy being fulfilled right before our eyes… yet it is so easy to miss! The sifting, the testing, the REMOVING of the middle ground. ALL happening now. As long as we stay with our prophet and leaders, we will end up EXACTLY where Jesus Christ is taking us… as a people and as His Church. Follow the prophet— He knows the way!
