NHS IS LETTING 300 PEOPLE A WEEK DIE IN A&E CORRIDORS Here is what is actually happening inside @NHS emergency departments in England right now. More than 300 people are dying unnecessarily every single week because they waited too long in A&E. Because there was no bed to put them in. That is the finding from the @RCollEM Royal College of Emergency Medicine, which analysed data from over five million NHS patients. The risk of death starts climbing after just five hours in an emergency department. The longer the wait, the worse the odds. In 2015 around 30 people a week died this way. In 2025 that number was over 300. Ten times higher in ten years. Dr Ian Higginson @RCEMpresident, president of the RCEM and a frontline emergency doctor, asked publicly how many more deaths it would take before there was a meaningful plan. He said doctors arrive at work knowing the system is full and they cannot do their jobs properly. Instead of fixing the overcrowding, management is telling doctors to focus on the least sick patients to marginally improve headline statistics. The people most at risk of dying are being deprioritised so the numbers look better in a press release. Prof Nicola Ranger, general secretary of the @theRCN Royal College of Nursing, called it a catastrophe that has gone unchecked for far too long. Dr Vicky Price of the @acutemedicine Society for Acute Medicine called it a national shame. These are not campaigners or activists. These are the heads of the organisations that run the professional standards for emergency and nursing care in the country. They used the words catastrophe and shame because those are the accurate words. The @DHSCgovuk Department of Health's response was to note that A&E waiting times are at their lowest level in half a decade and announce £215 million for 40 new emergency care centres. Lowest in half a decade. Thirteen hundred avoidable deaths a month. Both of those things are apparently true at the same time and nobody in government finds that uncomfortable enough to change anything. New health secretary @JamesMurray_ldn arrived in May 2026 after @wesstreeting resigned. He inherited this. He also inherits the question Dr Higginson keeps asking. How many more? @NHSEngland has the data. The @RCollEM has listed the fixes. Doctors keep being told they will get recycled ideas, performance metrics that do not reflect reality, and quick fixes that have never worked. This is the largest sporting event on the planet, despite what some Americans may believe, and the decision to prevent Africa's leading referee from participating in the World Cup sends an extraordinarily damaging message about the United States and the direction in which it is heading. I am genuinely astonished that FIFA has not lodged a formal protest with the United States Government and sought intervention to ensure that this referee, who is held in the highest regard within the international refereeing community, is granted a visa to undertake one of the most important roles in world football. For any referee, appointment to a World Cup is among the greatest honours the sport can bestow. A person's country of birth should never be the sole reason for preventing them from entering a country to carry out a specific professional duty at a specific international event. Particularly when the President of the United States publicly assured the world that participants would be welcomed. If nationality alone has been the determining factor, then this is a serious stain upon both the tournament and the host nation. It raises profound questions about fairness, equality of treatment and whether political considerations are now taking precedence over sporting merit. The World Cup is supposed to bring nations together. Decisions such as this achieve precisely the opposite.

What is so disturbing is that I have not seen you ever attempt to respond substantively to the arguments about how trans ideology threatens women's rights and requires that people buy into the metaphysical beliefs of others--which is in fundamental opposition to a liberal pluralistic society. You just repeat the same old trans slogans. Slogans aren't arguments. You are a Member of Parliament. You have an obligation to conduct the discussion on a level that you consistently fail to meet.
