Christopher Nolan is plagued by the line 'You either die a hero or you live long enough to become the villain' from #TheDarkKnight “My brother [Jonathan] wrote it. It kills me, because it’s the line that most resonates. I read it in his draft, and I was like, ‘All right, I’ll keep it in there, but I don’t really know what it means. Is that really a thing?’ Over the years ... it just seems truer and truer
@CultureCrave We don't care, we will continue to quote it all the time.
@CultureCrave That’s one of the realest lines 💯 ever to be shown in cinema!
@CultureCrave Hah. @elonmusk would get a kick out of this. Such a reflection of his arch the past 5 years 😂
@CultureCrave Well, his brother may have possibly coined one of the most infamous quotes and all of superhero movies behind great power comes with great responsibility
The take away I received is you either die as a hero or in other words, with the love and faith of the people you protect still intact. Or you live long enough to make enough of the hard, just decisions that those same people begin to hate you for it and villainize you, even tho you are good all along. ie: when Batman claimed the blame for Harvey death to protect his image so Gotham maintained hope in the city. He was the hero who became the villain, which is why, although Harvey was killed, the Joker didn’t win
@CultureCrave ‘All right, I’ll keep it in there, but I don’t really know what it means. Is that really a thing?’ -Nolan unaware of Julius Ceasar?
@CultureCrave Basically most game devs today. Used to create amazing games, but now only create pandering cash-grabs. I'm looking at you Rockstar and Rocksteady. Amongst many others.
