Make fun of yourself time: I asked a dumb question of Chris Sale today. It wasn't intended to be dumb, but I worded it poorly. Here goes:
I was trying to ask if, in his second outing of spring training, is it a bigger deal to get the five strikeouts he got (indicating that the stuff is working) or to get through the outing without any sort of issues with soreness, strength, etc. What was the goal today, y'know?
Of course, that's not what came out of my mouth. Instead, I somehow asked him if the strikeouts *mattered* - like, at all - or was he just interested in getting through the outing and feeling good.
Credit to Sale, he handled it like a champ and didn't make fun of me to my face or anything...but it was a bit humbling to say the least.
And plot twist! The absolutely wonderful @JustinCToscano - who has been an absolute delight both at the Winter Meetings and here at North Port - made sure that I knew that it wasn't a bad question, actually, despite how I was feeling about it. Again: the absolute best
