Matt Eberflus said solidifying the center position was a "critical piece" for the development of a rookie QB that the Bears were able to address when trading for Ryan Bates. "Very important for a young quarterback to have that center experience. To be able to call and make adjustments to the protections, to help and assist that way."
@CourtneyRCronin Pretty much admitting they let Justin Fields get killed to tank
@CourtneyRCronin I think he meant Rams former Center Shelton who went heads with Aaron Donald for years as their starting Center, it seems there’s a misunderstanding.
@CourtneyRCronin Also you need a consistently good and accurate shotgun snap. JF was getting a surprise with the placement about half the time. Bad snaps also add to the slow development of running plays and messed up early reads on pass plays.
@CourtneyRCronin “Experienced” the dude has barely played center in his life
@CourtneyRCronin How many games has he played center, I thought most of his starts were at guard
@CourtneyRCronin They traded for a backup C whose team cut their starting C the very next day. What does that tell you? If he was a starting caliber C, given his inexpensive salary, Buf would have kept him.
@CourtneyRCronin With those comments, confirmed 3 starters for the 3 traded picks. That plus Eberflus comments about “blue” players at 1 & 9 signals they’ll likely take their top guy on board at 9.

@CourtneyRCronin 1. No kidding flus, this administration killed fields’ career with bears 2. They still haven’t addressed it and are saying they did
@CourtneyRCronin 35 snaps last year at center. Lets be cautious here.
@CourtneyRCronin But Justin Fields get Lucas Patrick and washed Whitehear? Smh
