We have a massive corporate concentration problem that is transforming our food system for the worse. It is driving independent farmers and ranchers out of business; hurting workers and consumers and large scale factory farming is hurting our environment and is cruel to animals. Flashback to 2008 when Food Inc. ignited a national conversation around our food system. It’s still true today that only a few companies control over 80% of American beef production…which is why this conversation is as important now than ever.
How did you vote when it came to requiring tracking devices on cattle? Or China buying Farmland. Or ANY other position going against the corporate lobbies that tell you how to vote instead of your constitutes? You sir are NOT the rebellion.. you are part of the ruling oligarchy.

@CoryBooker Alice Waters preached this in the 80s… many books were written about the demise of the local truck farmer… and here we are. We’ve been led away from the garden and into the corporatization of manufactured foods… And it’s killing us.
@CoryBooker You are certainly the first senator in history to acknowledge this. Bravo!
@CoryBooker The bank prospered as the oldest continually African-American-operated bank in the United States until 2009. Maggie believed in creating pathways toward equity, which sat at the heart of her every mission.
@CoryBooker What is or can be done? Food quality is low and inhumane treatment of animals. Farmers and ranchers futures. What can be done?
