Voters in Steamboat Springs have rejected the city’s annexation of Brown Ranch, killing a plan to build affordable housing for more than 6,000 residents. buff.ly/3TCgFdF
@coloradoSun headline here is misleading. “for more than 6,000 residents.”? Steamboat has a population of ~13,400… the annexation agreement was voted down by the voters, the voters are the residents of Steamboat Springs. The 6,000+ is the estimated increase in the City population if this now failed project would have reached full build out. ~45% increase in population. It’s not perfect science because many are assuming existing building stock will eventually turn over to non residents. It should not be assumed that this project was for 6,000 residents. Very misleading.
@ColoradoSun won’t they need these people to clean & cook for those who come tor the 6,500-acre private ski and golf development called Stagecoach Mountain Ranch?
