Dear Mother, Dr's orders will require me to resign my post of leading the men in battle from the hill the rest of this campaign. I will still protect with my trusty rifle until I am repaired. I am disappointed but must find new ways to lead. Continue prayers for this Warrior.

Dear Mother, Last night the men and I continued our victory streak in the campaign. This one was especially gratifying as we defeated forces once under the command of Gen. Perez. Maj. Holcomb was sharp as a hobnail boot with his rifle and Maj. Brooks led us in the last charge.

Dear Mother, Our revenge was mighty against our foes from the west. We dispatched them quickly in our first meeting but they provided an ornery opposition a second time. The men dug in like Alabama ticks and we bested them once again. I fired my cannon a 3rd time this campaign.

Dear Mother, Tonight our enemy approached from the south. We dusted them severely in the initial onslaught and then again a second time for good measure. The men were sharp as a boars tusk with their rifles throughout the night and I fired my second cannon shot of the campaign.

Dear Mother, I have received word from brother Alex and appreciate his support during this campaign. No one knows the commitment and sacrifice it takes more than him. I think it only prudent to honor his example of courage each time I take the battlefield.

Dear Mother, Tonight we bested the Spartans for what I am sure will become the first of many battles won under General Perez. I take pride in knowing that he allowed me to lead the charge from the hill. The men and I will sleep well in our bunks as we savor the taste of victory.

Dear Mother, I hope this letter finds you well. I was able to fire my first cannon shot of this campaign and suffice to say, my aim was true. Sadly however we were bested in our skirmishes against the devils. General Perez has now called for battle planning on Presidents Day.

Dear Mother, We were unsuccessful in our opening campaign and while spirits are down they are not broken. I must reflect on my own leadership from these battle scars. As dawn breaks tomorrow so must we towards the Georgia border to rendezvous with yet another formidable foe.

Dear Mother, The men and I have postponed our battle march to Chelsea in lieu of the inclement weather. We will hunker down for the night and prepare ourselves for tomorrow. I look in to the men's eyes and I know they are ready and eager for battle.
