@Langham_London The oringinal lifts were timber panelled with inset fretwork designs, and a flip-down seat for the operator, which I restored in 1988.
@oilcanfinish @Craigeep Yes. That would be interesting to know, as from memory we used Cox Stone in the original refubishment in 1988 after taking over from the BBC

@Dymvue @cliveholland The lifts were modernised (safety) and the beautiful in-laid paneling was refurbished (including the flip-downoperators seat), & reinstalled
@cliveholland That's true! There used to be BBC studios and offices there when I converted it back into the Langham in late 1980's
