Types of gamedevs 🧵(1/5) 1 - The procrastinator : This is the guy that does anything besides working on his game. In his own words he calls it "Research".
2 - The spaghetti coder : This guy's code is more of a mess than my relationship status. He claims he will rewrite the code, but we all know he won't.....
3 - The project hopper : This is the dev that has a dedicated hard drive for their abandoned projects and if they had a dollar for every abandoned project they would be Jeff bezos.
4 - Stuck in tutorial hell : This is the type of dev that can't stop using tutorials and can't make anything without them.
5 - The over-polisher : This is the dev that spends waaaaayyyy too much time in perfecting their code and design instead of continuing development. 5 years later they say they are 50% done 💀 Which are you?
If you reached here can you wishlist my game little scavenger on steam store.steampowered.com/app/2603230/Li…
@CodeRed_dev I'm.... all of them. Shit. I've finally been breaking away from tutorial hell though. Just way too A.D.D. to focus on one project at a time unfortunately...
@CodeRed_dev Can you be 2, 4, and 5 at the same time? 😭🤣
@CodeRed_dev All except for 4. I'm the opposite on tutorials, I prefer to bash my brain implementing my own A* algo instead of just using the one @godotengine has built in 🤣🤣
@CodeRed_dev I am a researcher. But I'm not trying to make games. I make generative art. My latest project was an isometric city block with random building placement. I'm moving on to "geometric pop art".
@CodeRed_dev I might be a mix between the project hopper and the over polisher. Not a good combo
