College coaches: STOP GHOSTING PLAYERS!!! It doesn’t make sense reaching out to a player, earning their trust and gaining interest, only to stop returning messages. I’ve coached 20+ years. Players/parents respect honesty. It only takes a few seconds to explain your situation.
@CoachPeteQuinn_ Coaches, players and players parents/guardians!
@CoachPeteQuinn_ Happened to my son during his search - sent coach intro email and film. Coach responded said he’d like to recruit him. Son said sure and provided all means to contact and then never returned any messages. Except he sent us an email once for his own personal fundraiser
@CoachPeteQuinn_ Had it happen to my son and I, fast forward 2yrs later and same staff wish they hadn’t burned that bridge when my son went into the portal.
@CoachPeteQuinn_ Thank you for this one. It’s as if thy let have no feelings and forget how disappointment can affect kids!!! Even a college admissions office sends a letter—it should be mandatory for coaches to do the same. It’s more than just business.
@CoachPeteQuinn_ I think kids do this, too. They will go visit, tour facilities, try on uniforms, take photos, post them on every social media, get the offer, and then vanish with never any true interest in the school. It's like a 'look who offered me' mindset.
