A time was had at the MSA ALL-STAR Weekend! @laurennn343 won MVP, scoring 23 pts in the Rising Jr game. @Kamiyha_3 scored 23 pts in the Senior game. Both defended & represented SP well! TeamPope consisted of coaches from North MS! We stamped class & character! ❤️

Great coaches understand that it’s always about the players, not about you. How can it be about you when you’re asking your players to do 99% of the work to be successful? Your job is to provide the backbone for the team & if you put them first, they’ll want to provide the heart!

AAU Players: If every weekend your team is undefeated, you either play with a bunch of players who will be heading to Duke, or your coach is sabotaging you to win games. The goal is improvement - not weekend trophy hunting. Iron sharpens iron…play against BETTER players.
PARENTS: One day, our kids will be finished playing sports and they will be adults raising their own kids. The best thing that we can do now is to teach them how to be good, happy people so they can, in turn, one day raise good, happy people.
