“Don’t take coaching personally” I’ve NEVER understood when I hear coaches say that!
@CoachKurtHines Exactly, right on point. But at the same time, as I say, “it’s never that serious” it’s just a game
@CoachKurtHines Thank You, Sir!!! Love all the messages, but this one is personal!! Would love to have you join us @BostonVsTheBook at some point in 2024 if you have time. Have a great weekend!!
@CoachKurtHines Taking things personally is understandable when coaches work so hard at being personable.
I’ve seen the ‘don’t take it personal’ defense at the high school & collegiate levels and it was usually deployed to justify an a** chewing. Perhaps better put, is hear the message not the tone. Love can come from a hard talk, and sometimes it should—which is why I agree they should take it personally by adapting.
As a Coach, a mentor, a teacher, a guidance counselor. It's not a job, it's an accepted MISSIONARY position to build society’s youth. Not everyone can do it!!!! Those in society that have accepted the spiritual position, overstand the rewards that come with it. God Bless Coach Hines
@CoachKurtHines I’m with you brother! Just a heads up, the 2025 school year will be my last as a volunteer coach. Because it’s personal for me, when the mindsets and actions, along with the policies and procedures don’t align with my values and what I feel is most important—the kids—I’m done!!🙌🏾
