The meter doesn’t blindly keep running. When Clore stops receiving heartbeat proofs, billing pauses and a recovery window begins. If the machine recovers, the rental resumes. If it doesn’t, the unused escrow balance is refunded and the provider can be penalized through slashing. Clore.xyz

Clore puts the renter’s payment into an escrow contract when a rental begins. The provider only gets paid as the machine delivers the agreed compute. If the machine fails to deliver, billing pauses and the unused balance can be refunded. The payment flow is part of the trust model.
