Also some quick tips and tricks for RE0. - RE0 expects you to use things as you get them. Don't expect or try to "pack rat" items like you can in other games. There is no Item Box. - Don't be afraid to permanently ditch a handgun when inventory space becomes tight. (Ditch Rebecca's, Billy's is better.) - Billy has 2x the health of Rebecca. Use him as your tank and save your full heals for him. - in the same vein, Rebecca's health is abysmal. Try and keep her out of harms way as much as possible. - Billy shoots faster than Rebecca with all guns (he handles recoil better). - Rebecca and Billy have different AI as the Partner character. Rebecca will *only* shoot when you shoot, and she'll shoot slower than if you control her. Billy will just go ham on everything until he runs out of ammo. If you need to clear a room fast, having Billy as the AI will help. - You run *much* faster with nothing equipped. - For the love of God, put the hookshot somewhere easily accessible. However, you only need it 4 times. - Don't be afraid to split up if one character is in a bad way, or you want to prevent Rebecca from taking damage. - Leechmen are weak to fire - Leechman will tank hits in their "docile" state. Hit them with a few handgun rounds (or run by them) to get them angry, then use flame rounds if you need to kill them. - Please pick up the green chemical circled here (and keep it, it's needed as a key item). It'll very likely save your ass later. Also the green chemical will heal Rebecca from danger to amber caution, and it's infinite. There's a lot more stuff, but the list is long enough already. Just don't be afraid to reload if you need to, and realise the RE0 is structured differently to other classic RE's, while being more difficult.

RE0 will get much harder, so I'd recommend playing the remake of RE1 first if you have it as that's way easier. The RE remake also came out before RE0 as well, so that's what most people did.

So I've just ran through RE0 again on Normal, and the respawning enemies are mainly there to punish backtracking. Which on a first run, yeah that can really fuck you up, on replays it's far less of a problem tbh. They usually happen after a key item is picked up (which makes sense), but you can route through the majority of it. I really hit the respawns in the final area when I wanted to be safe before the final boss fight, where yeah pretty much every room on the way to the save point had respawned with zombies. In terms of "mandatory" respawns (rooms you have to go through multiple times), it's the train, the bugs in the centipede room, a couple of zombies in the dining room (I don't count the zombie waking up as a 3rd spawn), and 1 zombie in an upper hallway. All in the Training Facility. I don't really count the leech men spawning in previously empty rooms, and a lot of them can be ran past super easy. However I do very much agree that it did feel cheap when I did kill enemies I don't normally kill, only to have them pop back up. I think it's down to how linear RE0 is. Especially in the 2nd half. The game is also pretty long as well for a classic RE, even when I knew what I was doing. Ammo wise, the game does give you more than enough when you plan ahead (on normal at least, hard mode is really rough from what I remember). 1st image is before the 1st phase final boss, 2nd image is before the big leech queen final boss. The time isn't as impressive as I used the door skip mod to go through the run faster, but S-rank is 3hours 30min so I probably would've still got it.

@KyleHydeFan If this is regarding Graces, yeah it's easily the best combat system the Tales team ever made. Then they proceed to never hit that high again. I'd even say the title system and weapon upgrading system was great as well.

As far as I'm aware the game only spawns enemies at certain points. The Train, because obviously it needs to. It's a straight line after all. The Training facility introduces a couple more leech men after your first encounter (mainly the one outside the fire door/bathroom is the annoying one iirc, if you spawn it early), and if you return after leaving. Though you only need to return if you didn't pick up the chemical and sent Billy up the hole in the Library, or put the hookshot somewhere in the hallways. The Main Hall will always be clear. These are easily mitigated on a 2nd playthrough, hence why I mentioned it. After that I don't recall any more enemy respawning. Unless you count enemy respawning in the same vein as RE1 spawning in hunters in already cleared rooms after killing the plant.

It's funny because there are parts of RE0 which are genuine bullshit, but then there's a lot of complaints where it is a legit skill issue due to the game being actually hard with it's resource management. Replaying RE0 is a much different experience than the first time through. Still on the weaker end, but it does actually make you have to think.

10 hours in xenoblade 1. Currently running around the Brionis leg, doing sidequests after rescuing Juju. So far Story: Pretty good, though Shulk is a bit annoying seeing the future and not telling anyone (especially when it involves them dying). Combat: I like it, however it's a bit on the slow/basic side atm. I expect it to improve with more characters and harder enemies (I've out levelled everything reasonable atm). Character building: I can see the potential with the arts, gem system and character skills. Music: Great. Sidequests: MMO tier (not good). Areas/locations: Personally I find them too big for what they offer so far. Exploration: somewhat non-existent. Unless you have a quest to go to a place, there's no reason to actually explore outside some exp or the odd side boss. Doing all the sidequests before moving on with the story is definitely slowing the pacing down, and they're not good enough to really justify it. But I want them all checked off anyway. I'm hoping they pick up as the game goes along.

@Okami13_ Reminder that the mtx in DD2 were literally nothing and everyone threw the biggest shit fit due to being unable to read. DD2 deserves shit for other reasons but the mtx wasn't even close to one of them.

Very few people played Zelda 1 truly blind. The game manual has a lot of info, plus people had stuff like Nintendo Power and word of mouth which gave them even more info. Hell anyone that watched AVGN will know about some secrets because James used footage of Zelda 1 in some videos. My recommendation is find the game manual online and go from there. Use a guide if you get truly stumped, but you'll get further than you think you will without it. Beating the main game is less bullshit than you think it'll be (still is a little bullshit though).

Calling OoT Open World just shows how much the term "Open World" has been watered down. Open World has nothing to do with non-linearity, or even the freedom to go everywhere from the start. Early GTA's limited you to 1 island until you progressed the story (yes I know you can bypass this with glitches/skips but that's not the point). It's in the name Open "World". There needs to be a reactive world running in the background. Open World games are both a game that has an open map where the story takes place *and* a world which both reacts to your actions and NPC actions. To the point that the world will still react even when you're mid-mission or quest. There will be no, or extremely few areas, where the "world" doesn't apply. For example, if you run over a bunch of civilians mid-mission in GTA, the police will still arrive. NPC's in Bethesda games will die before you ever see them, because this time they decided to go through monster territory in search of a ham sandwich rather than staying in town. The world doesn't stop just because you're doing something else. That's Open World. Too many times people will conflate a game with just an open map with Open World, because Open World is a marketing tool.
