We get so caught up in this life — what we want, what we’re chasing, what we’re afraid to lose — that we forget there’s a bigger one waiting. John 12:24-25 “I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new grains — a harvest of new lives. Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity.” The old life has to go. Not because life is bad, but because what’s coming is so much better.

If you’re stuck in a cycle of falling into the same sin, confessing it, trying harder, and falling again — that’s exhausting. And it’s also not really the point. Most people try to fix their behavior one action at a time. Don’t do this. Stop doing that. Try harder tomorrow. But that approach puts all the weight on you, and you’ll wear out fast. People spend their whole lives chasing excitement and meaning everywhere but God — assuming he'll be boring. But Jesus turned water into wine, and it wasn't cheap wine. It was the best wine. John 2:10 "A host always serves the best wine first," he said. "But you have saved the best until now!" Life in him is the same way. Why wait until everything else runs dry to experience the best of life?

Here is what I use to prove that a baby is a human life: What determines the death of someone? It's usually a doctor declaring someone's heart has stopped beating. That is something universally accepted by all nations, faiths, etc. Even athiests agree. No heartbeat equals death. So then if the absence of a heartbeat means life has ended, then at a minimum, the presence of a heartbeat means a human life has started. From that point on it is murder to terminate it. I cannot say for sure when life begins (when God adds that spark of life) but we should all be able to agree that having a beating heart in 99.9% of cases determines the existence of life, even in animals. For this reason, I am fine with a minimum of heartbeat state laws.

The people posting to make you feel less than are counting on you to keep watching. Every click, every angry reaction, every minute you spend stewing is exactly what they want. The most disarming thing you can do is just not take the bait. Psalm 37:1 Don't worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. Envy keeps you focused on their life instead of yours. That's a trade you don't want to make.

It's okay to be angry about things that are genuinely wrong. Even Jesus got angry. But there's a kind of anger that slowly turns into something that hurts you more than anyone else. Romans 12:19 Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, "I will take revenge; I will pay them back," says the Lord. Letting go isn't the same as letting them win.

@WretchedNetwork When your house is burning down it won't matter how good a person you are. Your first need is to realize you are in danger and need to be saved. After that, you can lead others to safety.

Some people have turned caring for the poor into a personal ATM. That's not just fraud. That's an offense against the people God specifically said to protect. Ezekiel 22:29 Even common people oppress the poor, rob the needy, and deprive foreigners of justice. God listed it alongside murder and idolatry. He didn't treat it lightly. Neither should we.

Pray for those who are morally lost. Proverbs 14:12 There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death. Not every road that feels right goes somewhere good. That's worth sitting with.
