La diferencia entre Steam / VALVe y las demás empresas de la industria del entretenimiento es que VALVe no tiene que rendir cuentas ante nadie mas que ante sus clientes. El resto de la industria está corroída por accionistas lagartijos que solo buscan cuantas más ganancias a corto plazo mejor. Se está notando un cambio de paradigma donde los indies ganan GOTYs mientras los triple AAA son cada vez más vistos como la comida rápida de la industria, a merced de quienes solo exigen beneficios sin importarles ni el mercado, ni el producto, ni el cliente. Un ejemplo reciente de esto fueron las declaraciones de Tim Sweeney, CEO de Epic Games, que no entendía e incluso criticaba la decisión de VALVe de marcar como "Hecho usando IA" los juegos que la utilizan en Steam, demostrando una desconexión total con el público y con lo que los jugadores realmente demandan. Otro ejemplo de accionistas lagartijos destruyéndolo todo fue la impuesta moda “woke”, que provocó cierres de estudios y la muerte de sagas enteras. Porque por mucho que estuviera de moda, a la hora de la verdad no existía un público objetivo real que comprara esos juegos, Ahí están ejemplos como Forspoken, el reboot de Saints Row, Alan Wake II, Suicide Squad, Dustborn, Flintlock, Concord, Dragon Age: Veilguard o Star Wars Outlaws entre otros. Ahora que los inversores se están dando cuenta de que no da dinero, esta moda parece estar dando sus últimos coletazos, demostrando que veían a la gente LGBTQ+ por lo que siempre han sido: un nicho más a explotar para sacarles dinero. Nada más. Volviendo al tema, Steam no domina el PC Gaming por prácticas monopolísticas, sino porque durante años ofreció el mejor servicio posible y trató a los clientes como lo que son: lo más importante del negocio. VALVe se lo ha ganado a pulso, y gran parte de eso tiene que ver con ser una empresa cerrada, con ideales claros y sin accionistas dictando el rumbo. VALVe está conteniendo la degradación del Gaming moderno. Eso sí: el día que VALVe salga a bolsa, se acabó.

The radical left has been using fraudulent government programs for a long time to import and retain vast numbers of illegal (and legal, in some cases) immigrants to win elections and turn America into a single-party state, destroying any real democracy. The more you look at it, the more you will be horrified at what your tax money is doing and the fact that, if this is not reversed, your vote will mean nothing. The most obvious case example is the Somali voting bloc in Minnesota, a state that historically had zero Somalis, electing Ilhan Omar to the US Congress. The same is happening in Europe, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

I’d like to share that I’ll be leaving Bandai Namco at the end of 2025. With the TEKKEN series reaching its 30th anniversary—an important milestone for a project I’ve devoted much of my life to—I felt this was the most fitting moment to bring one chapter to a close. My roots lie in the days when I supported small local tournaments in Japanese arcades and in small halls and community centers overseas. I still remember carrying arcade cabinets by myself, encouraging people to “Please try TEKKEN,” and directly facing the players right in front of me. The conversations and atmosphere we shared in those places became the core of who I am as a developer and game creator. Even as the times changed, those experiences have remained at the center of my identity. And even after the tournament scene grew much larger, many of you continued to treat me like an old friend—challenging me at venues, inviting me out for drinks at bars. Those memories are also deeply precious to me. In recent years, I experienced the loss of several close friends in my personal life, and in my professional life I witnessed the retirement or passing of many senior colleagues whom I deeply respect. Those accumulated events made me reflect on the “time I have left as a creator.” During that period, I sought advice from Ken Kutaragi—whom I respect as though he were another father—and received invaluable encouragement and guidance. His words quietly supported me in making this decision. Over the past four to five years, I’ve gradually handed over all of my responsibilities, as well as the stories and worldbuilding I oversaw, to the team, bringing me to the present day. Looking back, I was fortunate to work on an extraordinary variety of projects—VR titles (such as Summer Lesson), Pokkén Tournament, the SoulCalibur series, and many others, both inside and outside the company. Each project was full of new discoveries and learning, and every one of them became an irreplaceable experience for me. To everyone who has supported me, to communities around the world, and to all the colleagues who have walked alongside me for so many years, I offer my deepest gratitude. I’ll share more about my next steps at a later date. It was set to vote on a law that would force apps to scan every private message, turning everyone’s phone into a spying tool. France led the push for this authoritarian law. Both former and current Interior Ministers, Bruno Retailleau and Laurent Nuñez, supported it. Last March, they declared that police should see French citizens’ private messages. The Republicans and Macron’s Renaissance group voted for it. Such measures are supposed to “fight crime”, but their real target is regular people. It wouldn’t stop criminals — they could just use VPNs or special websites to hide. Officials’ and police messages wouldn’t be scanned either, since the law conveniently exempts them from surveillance. Only YOU — ordinary citizens — would face the danger of your private messages and photos being compromised. Today, we defended privacy: Germany’s sudden stand saved our rights. But freedoms are still threatened. While French leaders push for total access to private messages, the basic rights of French people — and all Europeans — remain in danger.
