There are only three white men among the 11 major candidates running between NY-10, NY-12 and NY-17. This wasn't a weak pool of talent. Every race had more than one viable, qualified candidate. The @nytimes endorsed exclusively white males. This should alarm readers.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes No, it shouldn't. Policies first, we need to save this city and progressive's (and I will be nice) dreamy, utopian policies are not constructed to meet this moment.
@ChrisSosa @Will_Bunch @nytimes I really like Dan Goldman, who I believe he is Jewish, & in case you didn’t know Jews are quite underrepresented in the NY delegation. Probably not important to you, but it is to some folks. He’s not just a“white guy” & I would not hold that against him, though you clearly do.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes Maloney handled the questions about her antivax stuff badly. Patel is interesting but maybe not experienced enough. Though I'm not white and not a man, I never really thought of Jerry as a "white male". Just the most qualified candidate. Must we categorize everyone in this way?
@ChrisSosa @nytimes We voted and campaigned for @CarolynBMaloney! She is a champion of women’s rights and has an outstanding record - over 3x more bills passed than the other candidate.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes Why? Feels like Aesop's parable of the fox and the grapes. If Times had endorsed your socialist roster everyone would say Times was the gold standard of wisdom.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes endorsing two Jewish and one gay candidate is alarming to you? Interesting.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes It's still a great newspaper, everyone.
@ChrisSosa @GersonBorrero @nytimes When de Blasio was still in the race every street interview with him in his beloved Park Slope showed him in a sea of white people...affluent, segregated, house owners subsidized by diverse unfairly property taxed communities. Doesn't alarm otherwise habitual virtue signalers.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes I’ve gone back & forth for years with subbing. I was done when they let Haberman cover up crimes to sell books. I will never have a sub again.
@ChrisSosa @nytimes 2/3 have the most boring centrist politics you can find. One is literally attempting to buy his seat. "White guy" barely scratches the surface
