Why the Global Liquidity Rate of Change and the Business Cycle Explain Bitcoin. The Global Liquidity RoC (Rate of Change) is suggesting more downside into Q4. The single most common mistake in liquidity analysis is watching the level of global M2 instead of its rate of change. Global money supply is at an all-time high. It has been at an all-time high for most of the last decade. That tells you nothing about direction. What Bitcoin responds to is the impulse, whether liquidity is accelerating or decelerating, typically with a lag of roughly 12 weeks between the liquidity turn and the price turn. The business cycle is suggesting upside. The business cycle doesn't drive Bitcoin directly. It drives Bitcoin through the policy reaction function. ISM Manufacturing printed 55.6 in July, a seventh consecutive month of expansion and the highest reading since May 2022. So we have a business cycle in genuine upswing and a liquidity impulse being deliberately suppressed because of that upswing. On raw timing, this cycle was almost eerily normal. The October 2025 peak arrived 1,162 days from the prior cycle low, against 1,059 and 1,168 days in the two cycles before it, within a week of schedule, and about 18 months after the April 2024 halving. There was no euphoric top. The cycle simply ran out of liquidity impulse before it ran out of buyers. The bull case: liquidity levels remain historically supportive, QT seems to have ended, and fiscal policy is expansionary. The moment the impulse turns up while the business cycle is still expanding, you get both engines firing together again, and that's historically been the setup that produces the violent moves. The bear case: due to the liquidity dynamics, it seems that the four-year rhythm is intact. The mid-term-year bottom pattern of 2014, 2018, and 2022 would point to somewhere in Q4 2026, inline with the global liquidity RoC analysis. What isn't in dispute is the framework. Bitcoin is a liquidity instrument with a business-cycle overlay. Get those two right, and you'll get most of Bitcoin right, including, and especially, in the cycles that don't rhyme.
