Proud to announce an expansion of my structured literacy grant initiative for schools in my district. This year I was able to secure $120,000 for @PS10Brooklyn, @PS39PTA, @PS130PTA to provide Orton-Gillingham and other literacy training to teachers at these three great schools.

Leaders shouldn't aim to be liked. They should strive to be respected. We don’t have to agree with every decision. We need to align with their visions and admire their values. Trust isn’t granted for competence alone. It's earned through caring about people and principles.
One of the absolute joys of this profession is when kids you’ve known since Pre-K randomly pop in to surprise you, and you get to see the intelligent, caring, and talented people they’ve become. ❤️

Acts of kindness that feel small to us have a big impact on others. Research: kids and adults underestimate how tiny acts of generosity lift others' moods. There's no easier way to make someone's day than to offer a compliment, give a little gift, or send a handwritten note.
