I love that this movie kind of tried to make crusaders look like dolty bigoted idiots. But all that's come to be remembered of this film its its super based aesthetic and awesome lines like this about personal virtue.

@CdnMnrchyRspctr The funny thing is that Baldwin is almost the only thing remembered from this movie for the super based lines but he's on screen for like 11 minutes
@CdnMnrchyRspctr It was terribly in terms of the conflict portrayal. They basically made it seem like they wanted religious liberty 💀 thats how I know some lib directed it. Also, they made Rene de Chatillion look like an angry drunk. Embarrassing
@CdnMnrchyRspctr Amen. The “Kingdom of Heaven” is an exceptional film. 🙃✝️
@CdnMnrchyRspctr I think it did alright. Keep in mind king Richard was immediately betrayed upon returning from his crusade. The westerners were mostly there for themselves, not piety.
@CdnMnrchyRspctr They did Guy de Lusignon dirty but their depiction of Reynard de Chattion was spot on
@CdnMnrchyRspctr I don't like when people reference this movie as if it is good tbh. It isn't.
@CdnMnrchyRspctr The same thing has occurred to me. Taken as a whole, the film is representative of the very worst of anti-Catholic historical revisionism. It presents all manner of character assassinations, false equivalences and relativism. And yet, elements have been commandeered for good.
@CdnMnrchyRspctr Ah, but for the lack of a real Augustus, how different it all would’ve been..
