Garbage collectors in Ankara open a library with books rescued from the trash. "The only regret the men have, is that they didn't start collecting sooner." goodnet.org/articles/turki…
@CarolineGruyter Who throws out books? Seriously? This many people throw out books? Are they just the worst books ever written? Did their dogs pee on them? Have they never heard of donating? I'm dumbfounded a story like this even exists to be told. Grateful for the sanitation workers though.
@CarolineGruyter @johnmeehan2001 Wow!!! Very impressive!!! “Today, the library has over 6,000 books that range from fiction to nonfiction.......The collection has grown so large that the library loans books to schools, educational programs & prisons.” Trash or treasure? 💛💛💛
@CarolineGruyter @GrecianGirly Bookshelf envy?! 📖📚
@CarolineGruyter @BrentButt I have thrown books out, some of the Harry Potter ones. Though it was because they were severely water damaged and beyond being saved. It was disappointing. Other than situations like that, used books get donated.
@CarolineGruyter @JessicaVasami Once great litter, now great literature! Yes, I just paraphrased a Magic: The Gathering card.
@CarolineGruyter @Yo_Martinez I’ve only thrown out one book. Fifty shades of gray. What a waste of words.
